Essential Oils For Feng Shui

Aromatherapy For Your Living Space

Sunday 15 September, 2019.

Which essential oils for feng shui are best to give your space an aromatherapy stress relief treatment?

Do you know which essential oils will work for clearing a room after an argument?

You can use lavender, patchouli, rose and tea tree.

Stress is a difficult part of any day for most of us!

Did you know that you can use feng shui principles with essential oils to change the energy flow in your living space and lower the stress levels?

Using essential oils for feng shui purposes is a very effective way to ‘clear the air’

I always keep my spray bottle handy to spritz a soothing mist of aromatherapy into my office space. It does wonders for changing the chi!

Essential Oils for Feng Shui

  • Benzoin
Benzoin was said to drive away evil spirits and often used in incense. Use this oil as a feng shui treatment to clear a room after an argument.
  • Bergamot
Use bergamot in a diffuser and let it’s fresh, fruity fragrance uplift the air, clear depression and shift anxiety.
  • Chamomile
Chamomile was revered by the Egyptians and is still used for it’s relaxing and destressing effect. Use this oil in a blend if you need to ease tension and keep people from getting upset.
  • Eucalyptus
The peppermint variety is used to relieve fever and the lemon-scented one is used to chase cockroaches. Eucalyptus in a diffuser encourages deep breathing which oxygenates the system and keeps the head clear. I like to blend with peppermint and use in a spray bottle to improve concentration.
  • Frankinsense
Use this aromatic oil to ground and comfort you. Treat your work space with frankinsense if you need to focus.
  • Jasmine
Traditionally used by the Chinese, this floral oil induces a feeling of optimism and confidence. Spray your office for a feeling of euphoria and well-being.
  • Lavender
One of my favorites, and one of the most commonly used oils. Lavender can fix anything! Treat the air with lavender to smooth daily upsets, as well as soothing emotions after a major trauma or shock. If you tend to worry a lot, lavender calms the mind and helps you let go of negative thoughts.
  • Lemon
Lemon adds a clean, sharp scent to the air. Use lemon essential oil when you feel confused – it will bring clarity.
  • Marjoram
I like to use marjoram to help ground the energy in a room. It is a woody oil and gives a feeling of strength and calmness.
  • Patchouli
Patchouli is another one of the essential oils for feng shui that can be used for calming and grounding. It is an earthy scent and is good to use together with lighter oils in blends as it holds them in place.
  • Rose
With it’s deep sweet floral fragrance, rose will overpower almost any other scent if not blended correctly. The rose is associated with Venus, the goddess of love and is used in over 90 percent of women’s perfumes. Use rose for feng shui if you want to arouse passions and stimulate the senses. Not a good aroma to use in the office.
  • Rosemary
This oil stimulates the circulatory system and is very effective if you want to combat mental fatigue and nervous exhaustion.
  • Sandalwood
If you want a feng shui treatment to lift the spirits and fight depression, then use sandlewood. It has a deep, soft woody scent which relaxes the muscles. This oil also acts as an aphrodisiac.
  • Sweet Basil
Basil, with it’s powerful aromatic smell, is known as a ‘cooling’ herb. Use basil to overcome general irritability and tension. If someone in your home is grumpy, try adding basil to your feng shui aromatherapy.
  • Tangerine
Try tangerine for a refreshing late-afternoon pick-me-up when your spirits are feeling flat. It is a real refresher.
  • Tea tree
Tea tree is known for it’s antiseptic and antibiotic properties. So add this oil to your blend to freshen, deodorize and sanities the air. Tea tree will lift the atmosphere and clean the space after illness.
  • Ylang Ylang
This wonderful oil is said to be the only one containing all of the notes within a single oil. Ylang Ylang is an aphrodisiac, so use when the mood needs to be romantic.
