Everyone has their favourite remedies for hangovers… and many of them will help you cope by replenishing the vitamins and liquid you lost over night, while some, such as avoiding caffeine, are very important for a quicker recovery. There is no one cure that suits all, but the list below is a good place to start.

Home Remedies For Hangovers

    • Sleep

Rest is the best way to give your body a chance to recover. A good night’s sleep allows your body to slowly break down and metabolize the alcohol in your system.

    • Drink Water

Water remains one of the most reliable home remedies for hangovers around. Consuming alcohol severely dehydrates the body and many hangovers are caused by not getting enough fluids.

We suggest that you drink water before, during, and after heavy drinking to reduce the uncomfortable effects of overindulging.

    • Take Vitamin C

There is some evidence that Vit C can help clear alcohol out of your system faster than otherwise. Vitamin C is an enzyme that breaks down alcohol in the body, offering a natural hangover remedy – drinking fruit juice rich in Vit C, like orange or grapefruit juice before, during, or after heavy boozing will help your body in dealing with the alcohol you’ve ingested.

    • Reflexology – Rub your hangover away

Assist your liver to speed up detoxification! Gently stimulate the outer edge of the right foot between the middle of the foot and the little toe. This is the reflex to the liver. After a few minutes of rubbing, your liver should start flushing and you will start feeling better.

    • Avoid Caffeine

One tends to think that a cup of black coffee will perk you up after a night’s alcohol consumption. But this is not true! A weak cup of coffee may be okay but a lot of caffeine will just dehydrate you, quite the opposite of what you want.

    • Vitamin B

As an antidote, take extra multi B vitamin and drinks a lot of water before going to sleep.

Excessive alcohol consumption tends to reduce B 12 vitamins in the body, which are responsible for a range of important metabolic processes, including processing alcohol. Try eating foods rich in B vitamins before and after drinking such as spinach, parsley, broccoli, beets, bell peppers.

    • Yoga Twist

Try this Yoga Pose to help squeeze the alcohol out of your organs.

    • Something Salty

These home remedies for hangovers probably make you feel better because they replenish the lost salts and potassium in your body, as well as the lost fluids caused by drinking too much alcohol.
